While various web sources were widely speculating about a possibly official Emma Watson Twitter account, Warner Bros. representatives were knocking down the rumors by officially confirming Emma’s start-off on the so popular social network:

We can only wish her ‘happy tweeting’ and we’ll gladly be looking forward to finding out the latest stuff from Emma herself! Make sure to follow her!

Emma has recently updated her official website, discussing the upcoming school year at Brown University, as well as the slightly out-of-the-way rumours concering her arrival in the US. Read it here or below:

I know, according to the papers I was definitely attending both Columbia and Yale but I’ve finally arrived at Brown University and while I wish that I could be in three places at once I wouldn’t believe everything you read! I arrived on Tuesday and I’m having the most amazing time. I’m still so excited to be here. I’ve already met so many incredible people. I’m over my jet lag and now I just want classes to start!! Hope you are all well and happy, and if you”ve just started college or university that it is everything you hoped it would be.

Oh and contrary to the reports you may have read, I didn’t arrive by helicopter . I’ve only been in one once when I was little and I was terrified. Now back to my studies! Speak soon.

Earlier this week, a stupid and completely pointless rumour has hit the web, becoming a top headline on every gossip blog or website. According to the rumour, Emma has died in a car accident, while coming back from a ‘Half-Blood Prince’ screening in Los Angeles. We can assure you that it’s not true! Emma is alive and unharmed, in London, currently filming for ‘Deathly Hallows’. All the fake articles have been deleted, and in addition, Jo posted a message on EmmaWatsonOfficial, clearing everything up once again:

There is a very unpleasant hoax currently doing the rounds which report that Emma has just been killed in a car accident in LA. Emma is of course alive and well and currently shooting the seventh Harry Potter film at Leavesden Studios in the UK. Needless to say, words cannot express our opinion as to people who make up this sort of horrid nonsense which is clearly purely aimed at mischief making.

This is going to be such a ‘heavy’ news post, that I don’t even know what to begin with!

In other order of ideas, two uncertain ‘Half-Blood Prince’ premieres have just been confirmed by Warner Bros: France and Australia. Coincidence or not, both the French and Australian premiere will be held in the same day, July 12th. The French one will take place at UGC Cine Cite Bercy, Paris, while the Australians who are able to attend the premiere will enjoy the brand new film on the Gold Coast. So far, no Harry Potter celebrity has confirmed his/her attendance at any of the two red-carpet events, but we’ll let you know if any of the cast members decides to honour with his/her presence, on July 12th.

Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, got a quite extensive profile on TheFilmJournal, including a short interview in which he talks about the whole Potterish experience:

This one is much looser. We take the time to explore the characters. Of course, there are big action scenes, big set-pieces, but what I think people really love in Harry Potter films are the characters—Ron, Harry, Hermione—spending time with them. That’s where the real pleasure is, I think.

One of the online articles posted yesterday, concerning the new Burberry Autumn/Winter Campaign, contained some info about the Raisa Gorbachev Gala. According to ThisIsLondon, Emma suffered a minor back injury during the weekend, which ’caused’ her absence from the charity event:

Last week Watson suffered a minor back injury and was advised not to go to the Raisa midsummer ball, hosted by Mikhail Gorbachev, where J?K Rowling had been a guest.

In the middle of a long film schedule, she was sorry to miss the charity event which she attended last year — memorably posing next to an eagle.

It’s good that we’re clear now and nobody has to wonder why wasn’t she there. Even though it was said to be a minor injury, health is more important than public events, which can be attended anytime.:)

Now some gallery updates I’d like to mention. As you might remember, Emma was spotted visiting actress Helena Bonham Carter at her house in London, in April. We finally have HQ candids with them two, along with Helena’s kids. Those are really cute pictures, so check them out. Sort of candids-related as well (although a little bit less candids), I’ve added new HQs from the sets of ‘Deathly Hallows’, in both London and Wales. Quick post (cause I’m quite in a hurry), but with many various news! First of all, although rumored to be lasting until the first weeks of June, the filming schedule from Shell Cottage, in Wales, is already done. The sets, built near the Freshwater Beach in Pembrokeshire, were being prepared to be demolished on Tursday, while the cast returned to London for indoors filming.

Just a few days later, photos of some possible new ‘Deathly Hallows’ sets, located at Swinley Forest in Bracknell, England, have surfaced all over the web. According to various sources, filming in those areas in set to run for almost two months. The new sets are currently under construction, and you can see some pictures of them here. Now, as we’ve previously announced, the first HBP TV Commercial has been quickly followed by a second one, now available right here, in an amazing quality. The good news is that a third one was aired yesterday evening, on two US networks: ABC and Fox, and it can be seen here. No new scenes of Hermione, but they both worth watching. A quote reffering to the focus of the spot came along as well:

It had a few new scenes. It kind of focused on Draco. Him walking through the halls all scared and Bellatrix telling him to carry out the deed. I could be wrong but it also looked like it showed more the of the Harry/Ginny kiss.

Emma Watson has truly caught the attention of the fashion world with her pretty English rose looks. So much so that Christopher Bailey has chosen the actress to front next season’s Burberry campaign. The plan initially was to include several models in the shoot but Emma eventually squashed the competition to claim the shoot for herself along with four male models. A spokesperson for Burberry explained, “The campaign is not yet finalised and we won’t release any information until around the time of the official launch in June.”

I’m not sure what to think of that story, but at least it sounds really good, I mean that “Burberry” thing. I seriously don’t know whether it’s true or not, but I really hope it is.

Most teenage boys would sell their own grandmother to get a kiss with Emma Watson – but co-star Rupert Grint is terrified at locking lips with the pretty Harry Potter star.

The red-haired wizard reckons puckering up to Em will be like snogging his sister.

Having worked together since the first film of the series seven years ago, the pair will smooch in the final flick Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Rupert said: “The kiss will be quite uncomfortable.

“Emma’s like a sister to me so it’s going to be, like, really, really weird.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is not due for release until November 2010

Potter VI moves back to July 09

Bad news for all those with Harry Potter withdrawal symptoms (shaking wand arm, nargle infestation, butterbeer overdoses): Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’s release date has moved from the relatively close November 21 to the practically-an-age-away July 17 2009. We’ll pause for a moment here for you to compose yourselves.

Feeling better? OK, now let us assure you, as we were in turn assured, that this is not the result of the film running into difficulties. Post-production is on schedule – in fact, the studio press release says it “was completed on time” (our itals) which suggests that it’s locked and loaded and ready to go, just sitting in the Warners vault with cash occasionally crystalising out of thin air nearby from the sheer weight of its cosmic money-making potential.

The delay is due instead to the fact that the writers’ strike left several big gaps in the summer ‘09 line-up, and rather than risk people finding something else to do than go to the cinema, the studios are rationing our film releases.

Jeff Robinov, head of Warner Bros Pictures, said that this would not affect the release schedule for The Deathly Hallows, work on which is proceeding in the meantime. “The studio’s release plans for the two-part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ will not be affected by this change. We know Harry Potter fans are eagerly anticipating seeing the final chapters unfold onscreen. In fact, the good news for them is that the gap will now be shortened between ‘Half-Blood Prince’ and the first part of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’”

Of course, the bad news is that the gap between Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince comes in at more than two years. No wonder those fans have the nargles.
